Opening hours:

Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 2.30pm

We are open at lunchtime everyday.

Services:

  • Recreational reading
  • Information and assistance
  • Self-service printing and photocopying for students
  • Games, chess, lego – an inclusive, supervised, social space for our NBHS community

Homework Club:
Monday to Thursday 3pm - 4pm

Membership of the library service is free to all residents of Napier City and Hastings District. There is no minimum age for joining, but those under the age of 16 years, their parent or guardian will need to present ID.


We welcome our school community into the NBHS Memorial Library. The library is an inclusive space for reading, researching, games or just to relax and socialise during lunchtimes. Boys are welcome to provide suggestions and we are happy to accommodate requests for books and games wherever possible and appropriate. We are always happy to support the boys in their learning journey.

Ebooks & Audiobooks

Staff and students can access our extensive ebook and audiobook collection through Schoolbridge. Click below to enter the portal. Your school login will be recognised automatically. You can browse and borrow titles instantly on any device. This 24/7 resource supports both learning and leisure reading for the entire school community. If you have trouble logging in or locating a title, please see your Librarian.

Epic is a range of articles from magazines, newspapers, and encyclopedias. Use EPIC discovery to search across multiple databases at once - There should be a link to this on the epic home page.

At Napier Boys' High School provides students with 24/7 access to information and literature. Alongside our physical library, students can use digital platforms and research tools both at school and from home.

Community Partnerships
We encourage students to use the extensive collections at local public libraries. Napier and Hastings libraries provide a wide selection of eBooks and audiobooks free to all members.

In an age of abundant information, we equip students to become discerning digital citizens. Our Digital Literacy program teaches them to navigate the web effectively, use academic databases, assess online sources critically, and maintain academic integrity.
